The
latest photos of rescue dogs with their families will
be posted on the blog,
along with the dogs' inspirational stories.
Each
year an estimated 3 million to 4 million dogs are put
to sleep in the United States alone.
While
I am traveling across the U.S. and Canada to photograph
deaf dogs, I will also be photographing rescued dogs with
their families. I will also be visiting animal shelters
and rescue groups to find out the problems and challenges
they face, in order to better understand the pet overpopulation
problem and educate the public about possible solutions.
Main
goals:
*
raise awareness about the pet overpopulation problem
* educate the public about the importance of spaying and
neutering their pets
* educate the public about puppy mills and pet stores
* create a book that can be sold by nonprofit animal rescues
and shelters in order to save the lives of animals
* inspire people to adopt their next pet from a shelter
or rescue groups
* educate the public about pitbulls and breed-specific
legislation
* promote the beauty of these animals and allow their
stories to be heard
